Project Temporary office Dar 2013

Statoil has found so much gas in Tanzania that thsy shall build an LNG plant that is twice as large as the Snøhvit plant at Melkøya outside Hammerfest. Statoil’s office in Dar es Salaam houses a staff of between 70 to 80 employees. Currently the company rent the entire top floor of the Hotel Colosseum for using it as offices and meeting facilities.

Currently, one of our consultants is involved in ” Project Temporary office Dar 2013″ in which Statoil shall renovate new office space for the staff in Dar Es Salaam .

In mid-October our consultant had a very busy week down there with HSE Audit of three tenderers / contractors and planning of HSE strategy. He says it was an interesting experience and verify local contractors’ HSE management systems. -You can say that there is varying qualitie, nevertheless there were some surprises especially when one of the contractors had stunning good plans and procedures to ensure good management of their HSE work.

Wednesday of this week, he went down to Tanzania one more time to present the project HSE introductory information for the contractor’s leaders and initiating a local HSE Inspector in accordance with how the company will perform its safety activities , inspections , reporting procedures , HSE meetings and more.
